Rebecca Wood's love of color is portrayed in her contemporary realistic paintings. She strives to capture the effects of light and shadow through the colors she sees, the lavendar in the turn of a girl's cheek, rose in the trunk of a tree or the shimmer of aqua in the distant trees. Her subject matter is varied. Rebecca enjoys painting figures, animals, still life and landscapes. She loves the transparency of oils and the pure pigments of pastels.

Rebecca, a native North Carolinian has had the good fortune to travel and live in five states from the east to the west coast all the while observing the differing landscapes and cultures. These experiences have influenced and inspired her painting. She approaches each canvas with excitement as she strives to express her passion for color. Rebecca has studied under noted artists including: Joe Anna Arnett, Robert Johnson, Judith Carducci, Margaret Dyer, Mary Erickson, Maggie Price, Connie Winters and Miruim Durkin. She also studied extensively under Andy Braitman in Matthews, NC and contiues to take workshops to enhance her art.
